SALE RESULTS THURSDAY 3/12/26: Special Feeder & Leadore Angus Ranch Bull Sale
Total Sold: 1,631 head
Thursday’s sale featured a strong offering of feeder cattle along with Registered Angus bulls. The Tyler family of Leadore Angus consigned 112 head of ranch-ready Registered Angus bulls that averaged $5,200, with the high seller bringing $8,500. We’d like to extend a sincere thank you to Karl Tyler and his family for trusting Dillon Livestock with their bulls. The strong support in the buyer stands is equally appreciated—we’re grateful for the buyers who came prepared to invest in good genetics and continue the ranching tradition.
Feeder cattle made up the majority of the day’s offering and sold into a very active market with strong buyer participation across all weight classes. Lightweight calves continue to be in high demand, with 300–400 lb steers averaging $581/cwt and heifers averaging $538/cwt. Overall, the market remained very solid, with buyers showing strong interest in quality feeder cattle.
The weigh up cows had a high of $186/cwt. Consistent demand was seen across the board, as the cow market traded steady to $5 higher. Rebreed type heiferettes top sellers $2.65 many selling from $2,500-$2,700 per head.

Weigh Up Cows: $179-$184.5/cwt
Weigh Ups averaged around $182/cwt. Quality multi-head drafts from Foster Cattle, Circle P Farms, and Huntsman Ranch mostly sold from $175–$184, adding momentum to the day.
Weigh Up Bulls: $195-$204/cwt
Today’s bulls averaged $199/cwt, with the top bringing $207/cwt. Loosli Red Angus’ bulls, averaging 1,402 lbs, brought $207.5/cwt.
Heifer Calves: $326/cwt-$590/cwt
Heifer calves sold higher today, averaging $423/cwt. KJ Ranch , from Dillon MT sold 89 averaging 668 lbs for $431/cwt. Pat Hendren from MT brought 32 mixed heifers averaging 676 lbs for $430/cwt.
Steer Calves: $387/cwt-$535/cwt
Willow Basin Ranch, from Dillon, MT consigned 7 mixed black steers, weighing 356 lbs for $615/cwt, topping the class, while the averaged traded closer to $445/cwt. Crocker Cattle brought a draft of 8 mixed black steers, averaging 472 lbs for $500/cwt.

DSA Cattle
Cattle consigned from within Brucellosis Designated Surveillance Areas (DSA) must undergo testing before being sold. To ensure efficient processing of your cattle, please ensure that consigned cattle from within DSA boundaries arrive at the sale yard by at least the Wednesday preceding our Thursday sale day. More simply, please bring DSA cattle to the sale yard at least the day prior to the sale.
